Central Self Storage is the worst business I have ever encountered!
We rented a storage unit at the Central Self Storage in Star, Idaho, paid for a month plus setup fees as instructed, put some stuff in the unit so all seemed good, but 11 days later on the weekend we were scheduled to move out of our house we were locked out of the unit for the whole weekend.
Friday afternoon after driving 30 miles with a load of stuff to put in the unit, we get there and find that we are locked out. It was during business hours, but the office was closed so I called the number on the door and got an offsiteoffshore customer service person that said they couldn't do anything, but they would have their manager call me right back and they would help me get in. We waited there at the storage facility for 1.5 hours hoping to get someone to help us get into our storage unit and we called customer service 2 more times before we finally gave up and drove back home with the load of stuff. We tried calling and emailing multiple times Saturday with no response even though their voicemail said their office was open. Finally got a call from the local manager Tuesday (4 days later). I thought maybe they would do something at least half way nice to make up for all the grief and money they cost us, but all they would do was waive the bogus late fees which were added to our account due to their mistake, and they gave us about 4 days of rent which basically amounts to nothing in comparison to all the grief and money their mistake cost us.
In summary, they have an onsite office which has been closed every time I have been there during normal business hours, and they have an offsite/offshore call center that does answer the phone if you call with a problem but they can't help you, and their system seems to be very prone to making mistakes, so if a problem arises you may not have access to your storage unit for days based on our experience. I can whole heartedly say that Central Self Storage is the worst business I have ever encountered!
